Academy of Our Lady Open House

November 26, 2007
Application cards are available at all Catholic elementary
schools, at the Office of Catholic Schools, and at local Catholic
high schools beginning November 26, 2007.
Students not enrolled in a Catholic elementary school may
obtain the application card from Academy of Our Lady.

November 30, 2007
The card should be returned to the applicant’s Catholic
elementary school. Elementary schools will send application
cards with students’ transcripts, standardized test results from
the two previous years, and first quarter report cards to
Academy of Our Lady High School. Students not enrolled in a
Catholic elementary school are to return the completed
application card, their transcripts, standardized test results from
the two previous years, and first quarter report cards to
Academy of Our Lady or make sure their school sends the
information to Academy of Our Lady.

December 7, 2007
Catholic elementary schools send application cards to the high
schools.

January 12, 2008
Application Day at Academy of Our Lady— Students will take
the High School Placement Test on this day.

 

January 14-18, 2008
Prospective students and their parents will be interviewed.
Freshman applicants return their course selection form.
February 28, 2008
Letters of acceptance/non-acceptance are mailed.

March 12, 2008
Scholarship application deadline.
March 2008
Registration for new eighth graders and new freshman
April 2008
Welcome Night for all incoming eighth graders and freshman
Scholarship winners will be announced.
Admissions Criteria
The schools of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Louisiana
admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to
all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally
accorded or made available to students at its schools. They do
not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic
origin in administration of their educational policies,
admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic
and other school-administered programs. The following
information is used as a basis for consideration for admission:
· School records with emphasis on 5th, 6th, 7th, and/or 8th
grades including standardized test scores
· Elementary and Middle school recommendations
· Interview with the student and her parents
·Other information regarding individual student needs
The decision is based on a composite profile of the individual
applicant drawn from all of the above criteria.
