The Penguins opened up the district season with a 5 - 0 win over Dominican. Sarah Bolotte struck out 11, went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Haley Wattigney went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and also throughout a runner trying to steal 2nd in the 6th inning. Overall the team had nine hits.
The Penguins also beat Ursuline on Wednesday 2 - 1. Sarah struck out 16. The Penguin are now 9-4-1. They will play in the Fischer Tournament this weekend.











This Year's Team
Ginger Dilworth with assistant Donna Blanchard will lead the Penguins into an exciting 2010-11 softball season. The Penguins have ten returning with high school ball experience that will make an impact this year. The newcomers are working hard to get up to speed. The team has 3 seniors, 5 juniors, 4 sophomores, 5 freshmen and 1 eighth grader. The team will compete in District 10-5A. The Penguins will play nine non-district and four tournaments to prepare for a tough district schedule that includes Mt. Carmel, Chapelle, and Domincan. AOL will also host a tournament on March 11 and 12.
The motto for the team is "It does not take time to build a team, it takes hardwork and dedication." The goal of this year's team is to make the playoffs.
