Heather Fitzhenry and Kelsey Briner will be competing in the State Track Meet at LSU, Saturday, May 9.

Fitzhenry: Track team runner Heather Fitzhenry, senior, scored big victories in the recent district and regional track meets.  In the district meet, Heather won the district championship in the 1,600-meter run.  She also finished second in both the 800-meter run and the 3,200-meter run.  At the regional meet in Thibodaux, Heather finished first in the mile-run and second in the two mile run.  However, Heather was not the only Penguin to score big in track and field.  Jennifer Kenyon won the 100-meter hurdles and also finished third in the 300-meter hurdles at the district meet. 

Briner: Kelsey Briner, a junior on the track and field team, was among the top performers on the Academy’s team this season.  Kelsey won the district championship in the pole vault and also finished third in the same event at the regional meet in Thibodaux.   Kelsey and the other track team members completed a successful season under the guidance of Coach Tom Chiocchio.
