Two Academy juniors, Mia Hock and Michelle Lagarde, recently took to the field in the annual national “Babe Ruth League” World Series of Softball in Concord, New Hampshire.  Mia and Michelle, both Belle Chasse residents, played for Static, a traveling team of local softball players who are age 16 and under.  Static advanced to the World Series after winning the state tournament in Houma and a regional tournament in Eagle Pass, Texas.  In Concord, Static finished fifth out of 12 teams in the championship tournament.  Mia played shortstop and second base for the Static, and Michelle played second base.  Mia is at left and Michelle is at right in the photo.
