AOL Students Learn and Give

Students in Ms. Draggon’s Family and Consumer Science class not only learn sewing techniques as a class requirement, they use those skills to make a difference.  Through a service learning grant received from the Joe and Dorothy Brown Foundation, the class made blankets in class and donated the end products to the St. Jude Community Center.  In the true spirit of service learning, the students visited the community center to deliver the blankets and celebrated afterwards with a pizza lunch.

Stay tuned for more service learning stories from A.O.L. as our school-wide Service Week takes place January 23-27, 2012.
