Academy family members joined forces on September 29 to "Paint the Gym Pink" to raise breast cancer awareness. The event, which took place during a volleyball game against Belle Chasse High, completed several days of fund raising activities on campus. Students and staff bought pink "Volleyball for the Cure" t-shirts and also raised money through a dress down day and by paying to put their handprints on huge banners. Funds raised were donated to a speical trust fund for the children of Marta Bott, an Ursuline Academy volleyball coach who died last year from breast cancer. Students who wore "Volleyball for the Cure" t-shirts to the Belle Chasse game were given free admission. |
