An oversized check proclaims the $5,100 grant awarded to the Academy by the Joe and Dorothy Brown Foundation.  The funds will be used for two worthy projects: Home Economics students will make blankets and pillows for the homeless, and the Mission Club will cook and serve meals once a month to women and children served by Catholic Charities’ Crescent House Women’s Empowerment Center. Accepting the grant are Amanda Bourg, Linh Ha, Precious Thomas, Sister Michelle Geiger, Brandi Agoff, Hannah Adam, and Alexandria Garrett.
