Misson Club Auctions Lunches to Students

The Academy family stepped forward again to help Haitian earthquake relief efforts, and this time our students and staff raised funds through the Mission Club Food Box Auction. The event, which brought the entire school together in the gym, raised nearly $2,200 through the auction food that was generously donated by school clubs and other students and staff. Bidders competed for giant-sized boxes of food that included crayfish, sandwiches, fried chicken, pizza, barbecue, sodas, and snacks. Mr. Kenneth Hunter expertly worked the gym as chief auctioneer, and Academy family members bought seventeen giant boxes of food that each served several hungry persons.
