Sr. Michelle is AOL's New Principal

Students and staff members welcomed Sister Michelle Geiger, FMA, as she assumed her new principal’s duties at Academy of Our Lady for the 2010-11 school year. Sister Michelle is no stranger to the Academy family because she has been a staff member since the school opened its doors in 2007 following the consolidation of Immaculata and Archbishop Blenk High Schools. Sister Michelle succeeds the Academy’s founding principal, Sister Maria Colombo, who will remain on the staff.
Sister Michelle, who recently earned her master’s in educational leadership from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, enters the year with a rich background in education. During the Academy’s first three years, her many duties included the position of campus minister, teacher of the senior religion and leadership classes, and moderator of the Student Council and of the Mission Club. She has also given substantial time and direction to the school’s service projects in the community.
Her background also includes teaching and many other duties at La Salle High, Miami; Mary Help of Christians Academy, North Haledon, New Jersey; Mary Help of Christians School, New York; Villa Madonna School in Tampa; and St. Joseph School in Brookfield, Connecticut.
Four additional staff members are joining the Academy family this year. They are Robert Chauvin, Social Studies teacher; Brandy Ryan, physical education teacher and head volleyball coach; Natalie Tompson, guidance; and Laine Bodin, guidance.
